Abstract
The Ministry for the Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge is in charge of planning, the formulation of strategies and basic guidelines for the conservation and sustainable use of natural heritage and biodiversity, according to national and international regulations. Vegetal species are an esencial component of that biodiversity, with several threats derived from human activities. At the same time Spain is a very high level endemicity country, and therefore has a great responsibility with its conservation. In this context, the main lines of work are: Monitoring of the conservation status of all the protected species and the situation, distribution and trends of the invasive alien species, in Spain. Development of Conservation and fight aginst the main threats of the protected plants in different hbitats Strategies. Launch of the National Forestry and Wild Flora Germplasm Bank and the Networked Forestry and Wild Flora Germplasm Bank, as tools at the service of ex situ conservation. Conservation measures field tests for protected species. Coordination of the conservation plant work with the autonomic administrations. Review of species cataloging proposals. Coordination the conservation measures to cope with the critical endangered status of Cistus heterophyllus subsp. carthaginensis
