Borja Jiménez-Alfaro is a plant biologist interested in plant community ecology, biogeography and regeneration by seeds. His research focuses on plant-environmental interactions from the population to the community level with the aim of understanding vegetation diversity and preserving natural ecosystems. He is a principal investigator at the Institute of Biodiversity Research – University of Oviedo (Spain), and the Director of Science of the Atlantic Botanic Garden of Gijón (Spain).
