Biography

Since 2001 I have investigated the diversity of lichen symbioses, especially in cold and temperate regions of both hemispheres. PhD in Biology from the Universitat de València (2004), my area of expertise includes the systematics of lichenized and lichenicolous fungi as well as the diversity of lichen-associated photobionts, having published more than
100 articles in these areas. My interests include the taxonomy of lichenized fungi from marine environments, fungal-algal relationships at the community scale, and the evolution of lichen symbioses on oceanic islands.
