Song Ge is a research professor at Institute of Botany, CAS (IBCAS). He obtained his PhD degree at IBCAS and has worked the institute since 1993. His research interests cover plant conservation genetics, molecular phylogeny, speciation and domestication, and population genomics. He has been the vice-president of Botanical Society of China and was elected a corresponding member of Botanical Society of America in 2017. Currently he is Co-Editors in Chief of J Syst Evol and Associate Editor of BMC Ecol Evol and Conser Genet. He was one of Secretaries-General of IBC 2017 in Shenzhen, China.
