Biography

Juan A. Devesa is Professor of Botany at the University of Córdoba, Spain. His research interest is focused on the taxonomy of vascular plants of the Iberian Peninsula and North Africa, especially Fabaceae, Dipsacaceae, Valerianaceae, Rubiaceae, Asteraceae and Poaceae. He is the author or co-author of more than 300 articles, books, or book chapters. He has actively worked in the elaboration of some regional floras (for example, Flora Vascular de Andalucía Occidental, Flora de Extremadura, Trees and shrubs natives of North Africa. Biodiversity and fight against erosion and desertification) and more recently in the preparation of several volumes of Flora iberica.
