Biography

Scientist at the Botanical Institute of Barcelona. Her main scientific interest is to understand the mechanisms driving the evolution of the plant genome and its biological implications. Currently she is interested in cytogenetic and evolutionary aspects, with a special emphasis on ploidy levels and genome size, but also in the evolutionary history of plants (phylogeny, phylogeography, etc.). Her second and most recent interest is focused on ethnobotany, a discipline that studies the relationship between people and plants.
