Montserrat Vilà research focus on the ecology of plant invasions. Her main areas of interest are the role of biotic interactions on the performance of non-native plants, and the impacts of plant invaders on biodiversity, ecosystem services and human well-being. With more than 200 ISI publications, she is among the top 1% most cited researchers in the Environmental field. She is President of the European Working Group on Biological Invasions (NEOBIOTA) and member the Scientific Forum of the European Regulation on Alien Invasive Species.
