Song Ge is a research professor at Institute of Botany, CAS (IBCAS). He obtained his PhD degree at IBCAS and has worked the institute since 1993. His research interests cover molecular phylogeny, plant speciation and conservation genetics. He has been the vice-president and secretary-general of Botanical Society of China and was elected a corresponding member of Botanical Society of America in 2017. Currently he is Co-Editors in Chief of J Syst Evol and Associate Editor of BMC Ecol Evol and Conser Genet.
