Michael Barker is an Associate Professor and Associate Department Head of the Department of Ecology & Evolutionary Biology at the University of Arizona, Tucson. He researches how variation in genome organization has contributed to the evolution and diversity of plants. A major focus of his work is understanding the evolutionary cycles of polyploidy and diploidization observed across the plant phylogeny.
